The past couple of weeks have been exciting around the Shamy household. Two Fridays ago, while volunteering at the Morgan County Humane Shelter, we found 2 “furrever” friends. I volunteer at the shelter taking the dogs out for a walk and giving them some much-needed love as they await adoption. Shane and I have been talking about getting a dog since moving out to the country. Our new life out here begs for a dog.
While volunteering we did not expect to find “the one” but we did or rather she found us. She stole our hearts almost instantly. Introducing Josie the 8 month old boxer, she is truly a sweetie. We have been busy helping her adjust to her new home and us. No problem, she fit right in within a day. She listens very well and is well-behaved, especially for her age. Love her already!
Our other acquisition came along on the same day. Living in the country has presented some challenges, one of them being critters, specifically mice! Shane has a nice big pole barn for his shop and the mice have moved in. After talking to the shelter we found out they have a “barn cat” program. Cats that are perfectly suited for living in barns and chasing the mice away. Enter Sir Purrs a Lot (he lives up to his name). Since his arrival the mice are gone. Nice job Sir Purrs.
An added bonus, both cat and dog get along famously. In fact, better than could have been expected.
“This stick is so interesting.” “Dogs are so weird.”

Spoiled? Who me?
A quick bath before sunset.
Did I mention she makes an excellent trail dog? She has proven herself when it comes to finding trails.
Ready for yoga! It’s time to buy another yoga mat.
Now that everyone seems to have settled in quite nicely I plan to resume regular blog posts.
Love! Congratulations on your new family members! Rescue pets are THE BEST!!

Thanks Lanae. And you are right they are the best. I often say they rescued us as much as we rescued them 🙂

I suspect Josie and Sir Purrs A Lot are as lucky to have you as you are to have them. Love the photos! ❤
