A notebook? I know strange choice for the Weekly Photo Challenge.
We are really not into the holiday stuff, no tree, no shopping, no presents. It’s not for me. However, I do enjoy spending time with friends & family, that is the part I would keep about the holidays and discard the rest.
This time of year is my reflective time. Always has been. I love to think back over the year and look ahead to the new year.
At the beginning of 2016 I decided to start a notebook of memories, thoughts, goals, and the fun things we have done. At the end of each month I dedicated a page to a short “recap” of the month. At the end of December, I plan to write up one big recap of the year. It is so easy to forget all of the things that have happened over the course of a year and I look forward to using my notebook to reflect on 2016.
So, “It’s not this time of year without my notebook & reflection of the past & coming year.
May you have gratitude for 2016 & enjoy the holiday season.

Good for you. I’ve tried journaling but always abandon it fairly quickly. An interesting take on the challenge!

Thanks Tina. After enjoying it this year I plan to continue in 2017.

My family is similar. We no longer exchange gifts or make a big production spending lots of money on Christmas. We do dinner, a Moravian service, maybe the Nutcracker or symphony and decorate a little. But it is mostly a time with family.
